Designer’s Home, Clarity & Calm {Freshly Designed}

Harriet Anstruther is a designer with epic style, as you can see here via her own home that so perfectly highlights her belief that interiors be “antiformula”. Makes my heart skip a beat. About the white walls, Harriet says ““clarity keeps me calm … I like the architecture to be the story,” adding that white allows you to “see the silhouette.”” Hope this inspires you to seek calm and clarity within your surroundings this week, with any and all colors that bring serenity to your space!

Pillows with that Sofa?

After sharing all those fabulous sofas yesterday, I couldn’t help wanting to show you some of my favorite pillows. These soft works of art are so pretty! I posted a white back about the artist, Barbara Zaretsky of BZDesign. Her creations are hand dyed and hand embroidered. How amazing would these be scattered all around your nest to welcome Spring?!

White Sofas, Endless Summer Possibilities

Happy Thursday! Today, in preparation for summer, wanted to share some ideas for neutral, white sofas. With a white or an off-white sofa, your main seating becomes the foundation for any mood or style swing you happen to experience! Think about bringing some clean, cool summer comfort into your nest this season. Summer will be here before you know it!

DIMORESTUDIO in Milan {Freshly Designed}

Let’s start the week off right! This is the 18th century Palazzo home of designers Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci of DIMORESTUDIO. Coincidentally, one of the living room chairs was in the Soft Chairs, Creature Comforts post a while back. But I didn’t see the entire space until yesterday. I can’t believe how much I love this space. The simple layering, the lighting, the beautiful pieces, and the kitchen (after the jump) are simply stunning. I could go on and on, so I hope this space does for you what it does for me; it thrills my soul! Have a wonderful week!

Art To Scale

A large piece of art in an eclectic space is so nice. I love a gallery wall, too, but I love to see a piece of art cover or inhabit a wall on its own. It allows me to focus and really see what’s there, in the painting, photo, collage or whatever it is. Especially when there are lots of layers and textures in the room, a bold-sized piece of art is perfect to ground the space. And these spaces say it much better than I! Enjoy your weekend!

Style Wash {Sinks}

Have you ever thought of the comfort and fun a sink provides? Whether used to wash cool water over your wrists on a hot day, as place to rinse fresh veggies, fruit or Spring blooms, or as a makeshift tub for a puppy bath, sinks + waterworks = clean. And there is gorgeous basin style to be had all over your home. So keep it clean and design it up. Check out these vintage, industrial and rustic beauties and appreciate your sink spaces in a whole new way this week! Enjoy!

Chartreuse to Welcome Spring {Fresh Start Monday}

There is a color borne of a pale green-yellow French liqueur made from brandy and aromatic herbs called chartreuse. It’s half yellow half green, the perfect shade to bring the outdoors in, pretty against a light or dark palette, and the color of Spring. I keep a little vintage pin on my desk just for its chartreuse-ness (my favorite color). Here’s an idea for this week: pick a new favorite color, or reaffirm your forever favorite. Look for a new pair of sunglasses, or flowers or something! so that you can bask in the color that pleases you the most. And have a colorful Spring week!
